A collection of short pieces from his Russian period, published around 1851 by Bote & Bock in Berlin. Each piece corresponds to one of the four seasons (spring, summer, autumn, winter), depicting scenes from each season.

• No. 3 "Autumn Song", B minor, 4/4 time, Moderato
  The B minor theme is delicately colored by a simple melody and meticulously written harmonies, and the theme returns after an interlude in B major. At this point, the accompaniment part plays another melody as if accompanying the main theme. This distinct part-writing reveals the unique ensemble sensibility of a string player.
