"Sketches of Clouds" is a bold attempt to depict clouds on a canvas other than the sky. Before the radiant sun, cumulus and moisture-laden clouds appear and vanish. It is the spun thread of a fabric where parts and the whole are self-similar. A gust of wind, and then rain arrives. In the sunset sky, as the day's last line of light shines as if slipping its fingers into the clouds, those clouds become silhouettes against the moon and float into the night sky. What "Sketches of Clouds" depicts is the repetition of condensation and evaporation, and the state of perpetual transition, like a fabric repeatedly spun above our heads. (Composer)
