Included in the piano collection Six pièces de concert pour piano published by Rideau Rouge (later acquired by Durand). In addition to Damase, the collection features works by Pierre Max Dubois (Ritournelle, Aubade) and Jean Guillou (Nocturne, Impromptu). Damase's Tarantella and Carillon are independent pieces and can be played separately. An LP recording (Inedit ORTF 995019) featuring Michèle-Elise Quérard's performance was released in 1971, making these some of Damase's piano works that were heard relatively early on. "Tarantella" is in B minor, 6/8 time, Allegro vivo, a light and sprightly piece rich in spice and humor, befitting its title. "Carillon" is in C major, 4/4 time, Presto, with delicate high-pitched textures mimicking bell sounds, undulating rises and climaxes, and a fading ending that creates a dramatic effect.
