A musette is an instrument similar to a bagpipe. That is, it describes music where a pedal point (sustained note) continuously resonates. The majority of measures feature the left hand playing broken octaves in eighth notes. This can be considered the musette's pedal point.
Therefore, for example, measures 1-2 and measures 3-4 should be considered as different instruments. If measures 1-2 are played forte, measures 3-4 should be piano, or vice versa; in any case, some difference in ensemble should be expressed.
The key changes from measure 9. Assume A major. Measures 13-17 should be considered not as E major, but as the dominant of A major. Since measures 13-14 and 15-16 are identical, differentiate them with dynamics.
If the left hand's broken octaves are depicting the musette's pedal point, it might logically be extended with legato. However, by playing them lightly with staccato, the piece can be performed with enjoyment and grace.
