Firstly, the notation itself makes it challenging to trace the individual voice parts. When attempting to follow lines such as soprano and alto, inconsistencies arise: they may swap positions, disappear, or vanish, sometimes with rests and sometimes without. For these reasons, the author personally believes that this Allemande does not demand such a strict delineation of voice independence.
This Allemande is highly versatile in its interpretation. While tempo-dependent, it is not solely a horizontal flow; emphasizing vertical elements, such as the half-note chords in measures 20-21, can lend it a sense of gravitas. Furthermore, as observed in measure 16, the writing incorporates intricate bass passages and a comprehensive utilization of the lower register, which, in a sense, suggests a certain intensity and heightened tension.
Considering the momentary tonality and harmony, a change in color is desirable even within a single sequence. Consequently, it is recommended to perform with a broad dynamic range.
