B-flat Major – G minor, 3/4 time, Minuet

Although a dance-form movement, this work features a Minuet rather than a Scherzo. The main section of the Minuet is characterized by dotted rhythms and ornamental figures with appoggiaturas. The middle section, the Trio, is marked "Minore" and modulates to the parallel key of G minor. It is based on continuously moving sixteenth-note figures and a chordal motive with an accent on the second beat.
