This piece is characterized by its prominent rhythmic features. Aim for a performance of high tension, ensuring that the exciting interplay between the right and left hands remains perfectly controlled and never becomes chaotic. The sense of meter is a mixed type, combining the 6/8 pattern of the first measure with the 3/4 pattern of the second measure. It is extremely important to precisely differentiate and execute the written articulations, such as slurs, staccatos, tenutos, and accents. For tenuto, it is advisable to sustain the note's full length right up to the next note, maintaining its force, and transitioning to the subsequent note in a momentary gap. Staccato should not be a soft, arm-driven articulation, but rather very short, yet not too light, possessing a certain weight to express the savagery of the "Fire Festival." Regarding accents, the composer's "Performance Guide" at the end of the score states "sharply." Perceive it as "sharp" rather than "strong," and focus on a fast key-strike speed. When playing through the entire piece, articulations can easily become unconscious. Therefore, it is recommended to isolate and rigorously check each articulation—for instance, practicing only the tenuto notes or only the staccato notes—as this will lead to a more precise performance. Measures 9-12 are prone to rhythmic instability; pay close attention to the fourth beat. Measure 12 should be felt in 3/4 time.
