Although an unfinished work, do not play strictly according to the score; try to compose the remaining parts yourself. The left hand is essentially a walking bass, consisting of a continuous series of constant eighth notes, similar to a walking pace, so composing it should not be particularly difficult.
The bass line disappears from measure 10, so begin composing from this point. Measures 10-12 are considered to modulate to A-flat major, so choose notes that satisfy this modulation. The following is an example:
- 10 F ↘C↘F↗F↗
- 11 G↘Es↗F↘D↗
- 12 Es↘B↘Es↗Es↗
From this point onwards, the piece returns to C minor.
- 13 F↘D↗Es↘C↗
- 14 D↘H↘G↗↗(10th above)H↗
- 15 C↘F↗G↘G↗
- 16 C
Measures 13-14 were designed to reach a peak point by having the left hand move in contrary motion to the right hand. For your reference.
