Determining the dynamics of this Courante is not particularly difficult; it is almost always correct to apply dynamics primarily according to the pitch contour of the soprano line. As this Courante belongs to the Corrente type, a relatively faster tempo is generally preferable.
Regarding this Courante, although there are instances where it becomes four voices, it fundamentally moves in three voices, and while the bass can be heard relatively independently, the challenge lies in distinguishing between the soprano and alto.
One reason why it is difficult to separate the soprano and alto is the close proximity of the voice parts. While the bass is sufficiently separated, the soprano and alto are in very close proximity, causing the two voices to blend. Therefore, in addition to dynamics, experimentation with articulation is suggested. Simply by playing the outer voice legato and the inner voice staccato, the distinction between the soprano and alto becomes clear. Mr. Kuroiwa, who performs this Courante in the video, successfully achieves voice independence through masterful articulation. Please do listen.
