Regarding tempo setting, it is acceptable as long as the right-hand passage in, for example, measure 25 does not become too fast to be heard clearly. Conversely, it would be correct to set the basic tempo according to measure 25.
Play the piece with an optimistic and enjoyable approach. The theme spans measures 1-3, from the first beat of measure 1 to the second right-hand note (B or G) on the first beat of measure 3.
This theme reaches its highest note, G, on the third beat of measure 1, and descends to the G an octave lower by measure 3. Therefore, treating the third beat of measure 1 as the peak point, and since the rest largely descends stepwise, applying a diminuendo accordingly will result in a smooth execution.
Partway through, the rhythm begins to change to triplets (measure 8). Since triplets continue to appear thereafter, pay close attention to timing, constantly be aware of the beat, and exercise extreme caution to prevent these triplets from disrupting the rhythm or tempo. Proceed steadily at a single tempo from beginning to end.
