No. 3: <Ledronette, the Queen's Porcelain Doll / Ledronette, Queen of the Pagoda>
At a march tempo, in F-sharp major, 2/4 time.
Although it can be perceived as being in ternary form, the boundaries between sections are blurred due to the overlapping of the end of the preceding section and the beginning of the subsequent one. In the first section (mm. 1-65), an 8-measure introduction is followed by a light main melody played in the right hand, based on a pentatonic scale (F-sharp - G-sharp - A-sharp - C-sharp - D-sharp). In the codetta after the glissando at m. 55, the tension gradually builds. The second section (mm. 65-138), which begins simultaneously with the end of the first section, employs a new, leisurely theme contrasting with that of the first section. The third section (mm. 138-196) begins with the opening theme returning in the right hand, while the left hand continues the leisurely motion of the second section. From m. 153 onwards, the left hand also regains the lively rhythm of the first section, concluding brilliantly.
