The key is C major. The main theme melody is divided into two parts. The motif in the first half is characterized by an ascending leap progression of three quarter notes, followed by a descent of a second from the highest quarter note, pausing on a dotted half note. The difference between measures 1-2 and 3-4 lies in the interval of the first and second beats of the quarter notes. In measure 1, beats 1-2, the interval is a seventh from G to F, while in measure 3, it becomes a sixth from G to E. This can be regarded as a relaxation of tension from a seventh to a sixth interval, and this aspect can be utilized in performance.
In the latter half of the main theme melody, it ascends continuously over four measures. Unlike the two-measure slurred articulation in the first four measures, it should be interpreted and expressed as one continuous four-measure phrase.
The 'a' section concludes with a half cadence, and the 'a1' section concludes with a perfect authentic cadence.
