The main key is F major, and the form is ternary.
- A [a (measures 1-8) + a1 (measures 9-16)]
- B [b (measures 17-24) + b1 (measures 25-32)]
- A [a (measures 33-37)] + Coda (measures 38-50)
The opening of the theme features long note values, creating a calm and bright atmosphere in F major. In measure 7, the dominant chord changes to a minor triad in the following measure, becoming the IV chord of G minor, and the atmosphere shifts dramatically. The theme is repeated in G minor, then briefly returns to F major before transitioning to its parallel minor, F minor, where section B begins. The indication Con dolore (with sorrow) is present, which gives it a character significantly different from the opening F major theme. From measure 33, the theme is recapitulated, returning to the main key. Overall, there are few changes in range or movement, but the modulations to related minor keys enrich the piece with subtle expressions.
