This is an arrangement by Rocherolle for piano solo of one of the most popular standard numbers from a musical composed by Richard Rodgers and with lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II. When a number becomes this famous, even those in the classical music field should ideally be familiar with it as a matter of general musical knowledge. It is concisely arranged and easy to play, at the level of Czerny 30 Etudes. It is also commendable that it maximally respects the original scene, lyrics, and sound, refraining from unnecessary embellishment. This persuasiveness is likely due to Rocherolle's real-time familiarity with authentic Broadway stages and musical films. Familiarity with Rocherolle's arrangements allows one to listen to the entire music with surprising clarity and an overarching perspective, for example, when encountering live performances of major commercial musicals in Japan, and the enjoyment of live performances will multiply many times over.
