In A-flat major, 6/8 time. As the title "Duet" suggests, the interplay and melodies are exceptionally beautiful, reminiscent of Chopin's melodies. At the beginning, while valuing the fluid flow of the left hand, the right hand should play the melody expressively, as if singing, and it is advisable to play with attention to balance so that the left-hand accompaniment does not become too prominent. From measure 10, the melody is played a fifth higher. From measure 13 onwards, the interplay between the inner and outer voices of the right hand should be sung out as if a man and a woman are conversing, listening carefully to each other's melodies. The "dolce" from measure 31 should be sung softly and gently, gradually building a passionate musical flow towards "appassionato." After the repeat, there will be many phrases with small note values towards the end, but although "accel." is written for the right hand from measure 59, do not rush excessively; it is advisable to express the delicate 16th-note articulations lightly, in a veloce-like manner.
