Italian composer. His Five Piano Pieces for David Tudor (1959) are known for their bold use of graphic notation. He studied at the Cherubini Conservatory in Florence but dropped out. He was actively involved in avant-garde art movements and studied with M. Deutsch in Paris in 1957. He also had close ties with Boulez and was influenced by Cage. In addition to composing and performing experimental music, he was also active as a painter and created stage designs as an artist. His works were selected four times for the International Society for Contemporary Music (ISCM) Festival.
