Keiko Akizuki (Trio Klang)

Born in Ehime Prefecture, Keiko Akizuki graduated from Ehime Prefectural Niihama Nishi High School. After studying Piano Performance at the Department of Instrumental Music, Kunitachi College of Music, she completed her Master's degree in Performance Research at the Graduate School of Music, Toho Gakuen School of Music in 2009.

She is a scholarship recipient of the Yonden Cultural Foundation and an instructor member of the Piano Teachers' National Association of Japan (PTNA).

• In 2005, she performed Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Kunitachi College of Music Orchestra.
• In 2006, she performed Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 27 with the Bratislava Philharmonische Solisten at the Konzerthaus in Vienna.
• She won 1st prize in the Special Class 1B division of the 30th Japan Piano Competition.
• In 2007, she received the Jury Encouragement Award at the Tama Fresh Music Concert 2007.
• She participated in the Yves Nat Summer International Music Festival (France), where she won 2nd prize in the festival's competition and performed in the prizewinners' concert.
• In 2008, she performed Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Toho Academy Orchestra under the baton of Kazuyoshi Akiyama. She also performed Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue with Philharmonia Tama at Hibiya Public Hall.
• She held three piano recitals during her graduate studies.
• She attended masterclasses by Georges Nádor and Peter Efler.
• In 2008, she formed the piano trio "Trio Klang" with Hiromi Nishimura (violin) and Kanako Nishimaki (cello), who were also studying at the Toho Gakuen Graduate School of Music.
• In 2009, she held "Trio Klang Konzert ~The Sound of Piano Trio~ op.1".
• In 2010, she held "Clair Piano Concert," featuring solo and two-piano performances, at Suginami Public Hall.
• She held "Keiko Akizuki Piano Recital" at the Main Hall of Niihama City Cultural Center.
• She performed in the "15th Furusato Concert" by scholarship recipients of the Yonden Cultural Foundation.
• She performed in the "39th Salon Concert in Nagoya, Trio Klang."
• She held a duo concert with cellist Nanao Ito in Yokohama City.
• She was selected for the Chamber Music Division of the 11th Japan Ensemble Competition.
• She was selected for the Ensemble Division of the 11th Osaka International Music Competition.
• In 2011, she held "Trio Klang Konzert ~The Sound of Piano Trio~ op.2".
• She performed in the "185th Nippon Foundation Lunchtime Concert: The Sound of Piano Trio."

She has studied piano under Seiko Asaki, Masaki Haida, Kayo Miki, Michiko Okamoto, Tsunemi Naraba, Ken Wakabayashi, and Minoru Nojima. She has studied chamber music under Shuku Iwasaki, Ko Iwasaki, Hamao Fujiwara, Tokuhide Niimi, and Tsunehito Nakai.

Currently, she performs mainly in Tokyo and Ehime Prefecture, and also dedicates herself to nurturing young talent at Akizuki Music School in Niihama City, Ehime Prefecture.
