Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts. Studied composition under Minoru Matsumoto. After being active in anime and film music, including "Tetsujin 28-go," he held professorships at Shobi Gakuen and Shiga University. He published piano collections, song collections, solfège textbooks, and other works through Ongaku no Tomo Sha, Zen-On Music Company Ltd., and Lesson no Tomo Sha. His compositional style is characterized by clear and concise writing. Representative works include the opera "Tarachine." Currently, as a director of the Piano Teachers' National Association of Japan (PTNA), he serves as the chairperson of the new repertoire selection committee and as a lecturer for seminars (e.g., work analysis).
