Spanish composer. He received his initial musical training from his father, who was also a composer and pianist. Subsequently, he studied musical analysis, form, and orchestration. He became the music director of the Victoria Piano Roll Company, founded by his father, and traveled extensively throughout Europe and America, gaining a deep understanding of various musical styles. Among these, he showed particular interest in French Impressionism, developing a unique musical language that fused it with Catalan music. He was awarded the Barcelona City Prize twice, and also received the National Prize and the Orfeó Català Prize.
