Graduated from the Composition Department of Tokyo University of the Arts. He studied composition under Yoshio Hasegawa and Akira Kitamura from his second year of high school. He studied piano under Shizuka Ishizuka, Jun Ueki, Akiko Taniguchi, and Fuyuki Yamazaki, and trumpet under Katsuyuki Koizumi and Takeo Yamamoto. From his time at university to the present, he has served as concertmaster and music director for the theater company "Baraza," lecturer at Tokyo Conservatoire Shobi, staff member in the Domestic and International Instruction Department and Publishing Department of the Yamaha Music Foundation Headquarters, wind ensemble recording director at Toshiba EMI, and was responsible for text production and instruction for "Popular Piano" at the Music Education Center of the Japan Correspondence Education Association. As a headquarters staff member for Yamaha's PEN, he conducted over 300 lectures focusing on solfège teaching methods across Japan for approximately 10 years. Currently, he presides over K.S. Music School, where he provides lessons primarily in solfège instruction, as well as composition, theory, accompaniment, music theory, piano performance, and ensemble. The number of students he has taught to date amounts to several hundred. He is a full member of the Piano Teachers' National Association of Japan (PTNA) and a lecturer in the Department of Music Culture at Seitoku University.
