Born in Tokyo. Graduated at the top of her class from the composition department of Tokyo University of the Arts, and completed her graduate studies there. While still in graduate school, she made her professional debut with the wind ensemble piece "Introduction and Allegro" and the choral suite "The Ark." She was selected for the composition division (orchestral works) of the Music Competition of Japan and for the Japan Symphony Foundation Composition Award. She received the Mitsubishi UFJ Trust Foundation Encouragement Award for the premiere of her opera "Alice in Wonderland" (a commissioned work for the 20th anniversary of the Mozart Theatre). Her third solo exhibition of works, "A Night of Chamber Music," received high acclaim in numerous music magazines, including a newspaper review stating that it "proved her to be a preeminent presence among composers of her generation." Her vocal works are particularly popular, with both her songs and choral pieces widely performed throughout Japan.

- "Gothic" for wind ensemble
- "Twisting Landscape" for chamber ensemble
- "Dream Circuit" for piano, among others.
She has approximately 100 published scores and numerous CDs, including:

She is currently a member of the Japan Federation of Composers.
