Born in Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, in 1960.
Studied music fundamentals under Shigeo Sasakura. Graduated from Tokyo Metropolitan Mukojima Commercial High School.
In 1979, enrolled in Tokyo Conservatoire Shobi.
Completed the diploma program in 1986, after studying in the Basic Course, Teacher Training Course, and Research Course. Became a research associate. Established Hamanaka Music School in Ome City, Tokyo. In 1993, joined the Japan Federation of Composers. Participated in and had works published in Kawai Publishing's "Piano Pieces for Children" series. Currently, he is the Representative of Hamanaka Music School, a composer member of the International Art Federation, and an instructor for Ome City Lifelong Learning. He resides in Ome City, Tokyo, and is a father of two sons and one daughter.
