Born in Kagawa Prefecture in 1940. Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts and completed graduate studies there. Studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München as a German government scholarship recipient. Studied under Shigetaro Yamagata, Yoshio Hasegawa, and G. Bialas.
Awarded at the Japan Music Competition in 1963. Received the Agency for Cultural Affairs Arts Festival Excellence Award in 1974 (for "Tōon" for Tsugaru shamisen and percussion). "Shiro no Album" (White Album) for female chorus and harp was selected and performed at the Gaudeamus International Music Week (Netherlands) in 1971.
After serving as a full-time lecturer and associate professor at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music and Shiga University, became a professor of composition at Aichi Prefectural University of the Arts in 1985, retiring in 2004. Currently Professor Emeritus at the same university.

- "Fuyu no Hōka" (Winter Arson) for female chorus and orchestra
- "Isshun no Gen'ei" (Momentary Illusion) for female chorus and piano
- "Orpheus or Koi no Netori" (Orpheus or Love's Melody) for flute or shinobue
- "Kumo wa Nagare..." (Clouds Flow...) for piano solo
- "Miyabi" for organ, and others.
