Composed in 1901, this work consists of the following two pieces:

• No. 1 Prelude in F-sharp major, "Evening Bells" Written immediately after the composition of the symphonic poem In the Forest. The melody is gently played amidst the soft atmosphere of F-sharp major. The sound of C-sharp, which gradually emerges, is consistently struck until the rich, bell-like timbre is heard at the end of the piece. Performance duration: approximately 2 minutes 30 seconds.
• No. 2 Nocturne in C-sharp minor Composed in a single night. It begins with a somewhat sensuous atmosphere. In the middle section, a folk-like melody is sung refreshingly in C-sharp major, and the moment it is interrupted, the opening melody reappears after a storm-like transitional passage. Performance duration: approximately 3 minutes.
