What came to mind when I encountered this poem was the destruction of ethnic houses in Xinjiang Uyghur. When considering its melodization, I initially conceived of incorporating musical materials from that region. However, I later received words from the poet: "What comes to my mind is the image of a person who believes they see something that doesn't exist, walking towards a destination they will never reach." This prompted me to renew my thoughts, transcending a descriptive interpretation of the poem, and to create a world of soul-stirring incantation.
