Composed at the commission of Mr. Kazuyuki Kusayanagi for the event "DV (Domestic Violence) Requiem Gathering" held on October 21, 2001. I had numerous discussions with the victims and Mr. Kusayanagi, receiving many hints for the composition. I composed desperately, striving to convey the "prayers" and "feelings" I received at that time through music. The performance copyright for this piece has been waived, allowing it to be freely performed on any occasion. If it is difficult to play, please try playing only the parts you like, such as just the first page or the last two pages, to the extent possible. The title, "Intermezzo," refers to a piece to be performed as an interlude until the day domestic violence ceases. I, too, intend to continue playing this piece until the day domestic violence disappears.
