Born in Nagoya in 1968. Began composing independently at the age of eight. In 1990, formed pou-fou, a band that collaboratively composed based on improvisation, winning the Grand Prix at Sony Music Entertainment's NEW ARTISTS AUDITION, and released the CD "Bird Chase" in 1992. Received the JCC ART AWARDS Grand Prize in Contemporary Music (1996) and the 1st Asahi Beer Art Award (2003). In 2006, supervised the NHK Educational TV music program "Ainote" and regularly appeared as "Aka no Ainote-san." Authored books including "How to Do Music" and "How to Do Improvisation" (Aozora Ongakusha), "Music Resonates in Nursing Homes" (Shobunsha), "Sound, Rhythm, Body" (Minshusha), and "Hints for Music Creation" (Ongaku no Tomo Sha), among others. Graduated from Kyoto University, Faculty of Science, Department of Mathematics.
