Profile
May 2011. In the coastal areas of Yamada Town and Rikuzentakata City in Iwate Prefecture, which were struck by the tsunami during the Great East Japan Earthquake (March 11, 2011), and amidst the collapsed rubble in Asahi-cho, Kesennuma City, Miyagi Prefecture, black-tailed gulls built nests and parent birds incubated their eggs. It is said that they were soaring chaotically in the sky above the devastated disaster-stricken areas.
There is a common discourse questioning whether the culture that existed before 3/11 should continue unchanged into the future, but it seems there is no other way than to continue writing works while gradually searching for answers.
