A masterpiece of piano works, highly popular among boys, with a melody based on the Korean pentatonic scale and a rhythm based on unique Korean jangdan. The piece's first and latter halves are composed of jangdan called Pankkukkori, while the middle section consists of Chungmori jangdan, contrasting with the former. Its structural divisions are clearly delineated, making it simple and easy to understand. Its rhythmic character makes it an approachable piano miniature. Although composed quite some time ago, it is still frequently performed in various settings today and remains beloved by people.

This piano work features melodies based on the traditional Korean pentatonic scale and rhythms derived from unique Jangdan patterns. The piece is structured with the Pankkukkori Jangdan rhythm from measures 1-24 and again from measures 37-47, while the contrasting middle section, from measures 25-36, is composed in the Chungmori Jangdan. Each rhythm played by the left hand requires precision and meticulous attention. This commentary is based on the notes from Piano Works Based on Korean Melodies (Doremi Publishing, edited by Yang Seong-hwa).
