My previous work, "Movement No. 6 ~ Ranpu: Umineko," depicted birds nesting and dancing wildly amidst the rubble of the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake (March 11, 2011). This current piece, however, was written upon encountering a photo article about Shishi-odori (Deer Dance) performed amidst the rubble of the disaster-stricken areas, with the dancers contemplating the deceased and appeasing their souls. The poet states that precisely because it was Shishi-odori from the disaster-stricken area, he contemplated the essence of folk performing arts, which is the repose of souls. For these reasons, this work is a direct sequel with a direct connection to "Umineko." In concert format, it is titled "Movement No. 7 ~ Based on Yohojin Kibe's 'Ranpu: Shishi-odori'."
