The tempo marking is Lebhaft (lively), but if anything were to be added, the word "agitato" would be suitable for this piece. This is also a piece where directionality is crucial; for instance, a sense of direction is desired from bar 1 towards the cadence in bar 8, maintaining tension until the cadence. The same pattern as bars 1-8 occurs several times throughout the piece; similarly, start from p or pp and gradually build tension.
In bar 17, the left hand suddenly appears in octaves, followed by three consecutive sforzandos. The same applies to bars 21-23. This represents a shocking psychological depiction. Furthermore, the chromatic progression in the B section is uninterrupted. This suggests a psychological state of constant "unease." Please express this. Do not play calmly, but rather in a disturbed manner.
Another point to note is the triplets, primarily in the right hand, written in this piece. Since these triplets form a single melodic line, their articulation can easily become unclear. Therefore, ensure that all three notes are clearly audible, even at a fast tempo.
