Allegro, 4/4 time signature. While fundamentally in 4/4 time, the time signature varies throughout the piece, shifting to 5/4, 3/4, and 6/4 in different measures. It is beneficial to perform with a thorough understanding of these time signature changes. The piece commences with a striking C note in the left hand. Within this work, characterized by rapid and intricate movements, it is crucial to allow long notes, such as the one spanning 9.5 beats, to resonate fully. For the sixteenth-note passages, it is recommended to execute each note with a clear and distinct touch, even while maintaining a legato connection. At the rests in measures 31 and 33, endeavor to take a deep breath without dissipating the preceding energy, and then proceed towards the subsequent chord. Although titled an "Etude," it is advisable to approach this piece not merely as a technical finger exercise, but rather as an opportunity to enjoy the harmonic progression during performance.
