Consisting of four continuous movements (Fantasia - Rondo - Variations - Presto).

The Fantasia introduces several musical ideas that reappear in various guises throughout all movements. In the Rondo, a simple rhythmic motif emerges, while the subsequent Variations develop a harmonic theme. In the Presto, thematic elements that have appeared previously are echoed.

This work was commissioned and composed for the Gilmore International Keyboard Festival, with the support of the Australia Council. The premiere took place on May 11, 2007, at Zipper Concert Hall in Los Angeles, performed by Elizabeth Schumann, winner of the 2004 Young Artist Award at the same festival.
