Born in Kobe. Composer, Media Master No. 75. Specializing in the creation of artistic works using computers, he conducts creative research on algorithmic composition, sound synthesis, live electronics, and media expression. His electroacoustic works have been performed both domestically and internationally at events such as ICMC (International Computer Music Conference), Contemporary Computer Music Concert, FUJI acousmatic music festival, MUSICACOUSTICA-BEIJING, and Festival FUTURA. He graduated from the Composition Department of Showa University of Music and the Art and Media Lab Department of IAMAS (Institute of Advanced Media Arts and Sciences). He studied under Masahiro Miwa. At the MOTUS Summer Atelier in Paris in 2006, he received instruction on acousmatic music composition and acousmonium performance from Denis Dufour and others. He is a member of the Japan Federation of Composers, the Society for Advanced Musical Creation, the Japan Society for Music Improvisation, and the Special Interest Group on Music and Computer (SIGMUS) of the Information Processing Society of Japan. He also serves as a director of the Japan Electroacoustic Music Association and is an Associate Professor at Showa University of Music. http://masatsu.net
