Composer. He is globally known for his wind band compositions, such as the Symphonic Poem "Gloriosa". Additionally, his piano duet collection "Guru Guru Piano" series (Ongaku no Tomo Sha) is currently a hot topic as "sheet music that conveys the new joy of the piano." He frequently performs on stage as a pianist and conductor, and his concerts, which convey the charm of music in an enjoyable way, have gained popularity. His compositional style aims to create music that fits contemporary people, while being based on classical music. He possesses diverse facets, ranging from serious music to humorous music, and even heartwarming music.
Other works include 200 vocal compositions such as the opera "Mr. Cinderella", 70 wind band compositions, and numerous chamber music pieces. Recently, he has also been involved in the field of education, contributing to many educational materials, including high school music textbooks.
He graduated from the Composition Department of Tokyo University of the Arts and its Graduate School. He won the piano division of the Shizuoka Prefecture Music Competition and was a prize winner in the composition division of the Music Competition of Japan. Currently, he is a professor at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music and a part-time lecturer at Tokyo University of the Arts.
