Composed in 1762, this collection consists of 32 pieces in total. More than one-third of the pieces are minuets. Although dances constitute the majority of this collection, their countries of origin are diverse, including Germany, France, and England. Each piece fits within one page, but their lengths vary from around a dozen measures to up to 40 measures. Similar to the earlier Nannerl's Music Book, the first half is dominated by minuets; however, in this collection, the third piece uses 3/8 time. (All minuets in the first half of Nannerl's Music Book are in 3/4 time.) Furthermore, compared to Nannerl's Music Book, smaller note values, triplets, and dotted notes appear earlier. Chords are frequently used, and there are many leaps in the melody for a collection intended for children.

(Editor's Note) This article is published following a reader's comment. (This is a provisional version and may be revised in the future after further investigation.):
Musicologist Wolfgang Plath (1930-1995) pointed out that this collection of pieces is a music manuscript created around 1850 by an anonymous musician and was not composed for W.A. Mozart, a view that is becoming the accepted theory.
