Born on February 4, 1954. Graduated from the Department of Composition, Graduate School of Tokyo University of the Arts. He studied composition under Teruyuki Noda and Setsuo Kai, and violin under Hideyuki Futamura. His works span a wide range, including chamber music, choral music, and traditional Japanese music. He also undertakes numerous orchestral arrangements, CD reviews, and essay writing. In the field of events, he has composed, arranged, and created computer music for clients such as Fujita Corporation's "Vante" headquarters building and The Nippon Foundation. In 2005, he held a solo exhibition at Ginza Oji Hall, featuring nine performers including Nobuya Sugawa, Yasuko Ohtani, and Momoko Kamiya, which received critical acclaim. The live CD from this exhibition, "LOVE SONGS: Naoto Ohmasa Works" (JMCC 20207), was selected as a "Special Recommended Disc" by Record Geijutsu magazine.
In recent years, he has been involved in concert planning at Kingswell Hall in Nirasaki City, having planned and hosted recitals for Yasuko Ohtani, Yumi Kimura, Nobuya Sugawa, and Yumi Yamagata to date. Currently, he serves as a director of the Japan Federation of Composers and a member of the Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers and Publishers (JASRAC).
