Yumi Kadota (Piano, Composition, Arrangement)
Biography
Yumi Kadota graduated from the Piano Department of Tokyo College of Music. In 2005, she obtained a Masterclass Diploma from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, Austria.
Awards
- "Excellence Award" at the 27th PTNA Piano Competition, Grand Muse Division, National Finals.
- 3rd Prize at the 8th All Japan Junior Classical Music Competition, University Student Division.
- "Winner" at the 7th RMS Fantastic Piano Competition, Kanto Regional Competition, General Division.
- "Excellence Award" at the 10th RMS Fantastic Piano Competition, Final Round, General Division.
Performances
From 2006 to 2010, she appeared in various events including the Marunouchi Building 35 Concerts, Shin-Marunouchi Building Atrium Concerts, Area Concerts of La Folle Journée "Days of Enthusiasm" Music Festival, and other Marunouchi music events.
Studies
- Piano under Kazuko Sumi and Mayumi Tannai.
- Jazz under Bruce Stark.
- Composition and arrangement under Motoichi Shinoda.
Activities
She performs across a wide range of musical genres, including classical, jazz/fusion, and pops. She is also active in various capacities, such as creating original songs for her own units, composing piano pieces for children, and providing music for various scenes.Since 2011, she has formed classical pops units. Currently, she is active primarily in the Kanto region as a member of the duo unit "Yuminami" (piano & ocarina, with flutist Nami Nishimura) and the shakuhachi, viola & piano trio "Sashie." Her performances extend not only within Japan but also overseas.She has produced numerous CDs to date, including her own albums featuring original compositions.
